Hi there! We are starting a new series of blog posts, concerning welding safety.
This is a critical topic for all workplaces that have welding in their premises.
Welding – as well as plasma cutting and metal processing – release large numbers of fine particles in the air. Some of them are as small as nanosized and can be inhaled deep into the lungs.
Ultrasmall particles cannot be seen but they cause a big health risk for individuals working with welding, AND for other individuals sharing the spaces. These “second-hand welders” are often ignored when planning welding safety.
In the series we will introduce various substances welders commonly come across in their work, and what are their effects to health.
Welcome to read the series!
